EBO Labs is a trusted laboratory service provider in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, specializing in occupational drug testing. We are committed to providing accurate and reliable results to support the health and safety of businesses and their employees. We are looking for a full-time Lab Technician to join our team and assist with occupational drug testing, including pre-employment and random drug screenings. This position offers an opportunity to be part of a supportive team while working in a crucial role. Phlebotomy experience is a plus, but we provide training to the right candidate.

As a Lab Technician at EBO Labs, you will ensure the smooth operation of laboratory procedures and deliver precise results. You will play a key role in sample collection and processing, following safety protocols and maintaining the integrity of all samples. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, has a passion for accuracy, and enjoys working in a laboratory setting.

Tasks and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the efficient functioning of the laboratory. Your daily duties will involve a mix of sample collection, testing, and equipment maintenance, ensuring that all processes meet regulatory and safety standards.

  • Perform occupational drug testing, including pre-employment and random drug screenings.
  • Conduct routine blood testing, particularly for clients who require additional health screenings.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results and ensure all data is properly entered into the system.
  • Prepare and mix chemicals required for various tests and procedures.
  • Keep laboratory equipment clean and ensure that it is functioning properly.
  • Follow safety protocols, including wearing appropriate protective gear and disposing of waste properly.

Required Skills and Knowledge

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong attention to detail and a commitment to following laboratory procedures. While experience in phlebotomy is preferred, we are willing to provide training to the right candidate.

  • Ability to perform laboratory tests with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience with routine blood testing or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of how to mix chemicals for laboratory use.
  • Strong record-keeping skills to ensure test data is accurate and up to date.
  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them at all times.
