News EBO MD Launches Campaign to Support Southeast Missouri Families this Thanksgiving Season
Local healthcare organization hosts food drive for Southeast Missouri Food Bank and fundraising initiative for United Way of Southeast Missouri.
Cape Girardeau, Missouri—This November, EBO MD is extending its commitment to care beyond the clinic through a new campaign, Community You Can Count On. The effort includes two community initiatives supporting local families: a food drive benefiting the Southeast Missouri Food Bank and a fundraising partnership with the United Way of Southeast Missouri.
“At EBO MD, our mission has always been to make care accessible and personal,” said Tony Thompson, co-founder and CEO of EBO MD. “That commitment doesn’t stop with our members. We believe being a dependable part of this community means showing up when people need it most—not just in the exam room, but out in the neighborhoods we call home.”
Beginning immediately, EBO MD will collect non-perishable food donations at all four clinic locations (Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Fredericktown and Poplar Bluff). Donations can be dropped off during regular business hours through Tuesday, November 25.
A live broadcast with River Radio will be held at the Cape Girardeau clinic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on November 25 to celebrate the campaign’s final day of collections.
“This is our chance to give back; to help make sure local families have food, support and care they can count on. When times feel uncertain, the best thing we can do is show up for one another. That’s what this campaign is about,” said Thompson.
In addition to the food drive, EBO MD will donate a percentage of all new memberships in November to the United Way of Southeast Missouri, supporting programs that directly assist local families. The clinics will also accept optional donations from members and the public.
“We’re grateful to EBO MD for stepping up to help families in need this November,” said Joey Keys, president and CEO of Southeast Missouri Food Bank. “The holidays are always difficult for neighbors facing hunger. And with SNAP funding disruptions creating extra uncertainty, food drives like this help ensure no one in our community goes hungry.”
“Community You Can Count On” reflects EBO MD’s ongoing focus on care that extends beyond medical services, emphasizing connection, compassion and collaboration.
“Our goal is simple,” Thompson added. “To remind people that no matter what’s happening in the world, we’re here; steady, local and committed to making life a little better for our neighbors.”
