Platelet-rich plasma (or PRP) is obtained from a patient’s blood and promotes healing when injected into joints and other tissues in the body. PRP injections contain stem cells that help the body regenerate damaged tissue. Because tissue growth factors are more concentrated in the prepared plasma injections, this can help the body’s tissues heal faster.
