EBO MD welcomes new nurse practitioner

EBO MD is pleased to welcome nurse practitioner Pam Himstedt, APRN, FNP-BC, to their team of primary care providers at the Cape Girardeau and Jackson clinic locations.

Himstedt has been a registered nurse since 1985 and began working as a family nurse practitioner in 2001. She earned her Master of Science in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University.

Originally from Sikeston, Himstedt has provided medical care to patients across the state as she advanced her practice areas and specialization in chronic illnesses like hypertension and diabetes and in women’s health. Her professional experience includes caring for patients in the oncology and transplant unit at MU Health Care in Columbia, the oncology unit at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis, and in primary care and diabetes education at several Southeast Missouri hospitals.

“I’m passionate about listening to patients and helping them understand their own health,” says Himstedt. “and I’m looking forward to offering our patients great medical care.”

Nurse practitioners have undergone advanced training and can diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries, order lab work and imaging tests, and write prescriptions. They can manage many health conditions, provide health education and help patients with disease prevention.
