News Rapid COVID testing now offered at EBO MD
EBO MD now offers rapid COVID-19 testing with 24-36-hour results to the community. The rapid COVID-19 test at EBO MD detects an active coronavirus infection as well as identifies antibody exposure to the virus, with or without symptoms. Ninety-five percent of results are reported within 24 hours with the remaining results reported within 48 hours. The test is available for $120 to EBO MD member patients and nonmembers alike. It is not billable to insurance but can be paid with a qualified health savings account.
Tests will be performed at the Cape Girardeau location only at this time (1417 N. Mount Auburn Road, upper level).
Symptoms of COVID-19 vary from mild to severe and may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Some of the most common symptoms include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, a new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, or diarrhea. You should seek emergency medical care immediately if someone is showing any of these signs: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion, inability to wake or stay awake, bluish lips or face, or any other severe or concerning symptoms.
